Due to continued expansion, they are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join the team at a site in North London. This is a full time permanent position.As a Senior Systems Engineer your remit is within the Surveillance Systems business, to develop and deliver Company and Customer Funded systems projects, based upon state of the art technology.Your activities will include all aspects of the Systems Engineering lifecycle from System Concept through to Delivery and Acceptance, including Bid Support, System Design and System Integration.You will be expected to show motivation and initiative in planning your own activities, with little supervision. In a customer facing role that requires confidence and a smart professional appearance. Linked with clear and concise communication with internal stakeholders and external customers who may not have English as their first language.The Company is looking for someone with a desire to investigate and utilise new technologies, processes and methods.Key Features of the Role:The Senior Systems Engineers will be required to complete system designs and integration tests. Using their understanding of Systems and Product lifecycles from concept through to delivery.You will be expected to understand a range of Engineering disciplines (Software, Mechanical and Electrical). As well as being able to communicate to all internal stakeholders and external customers the process from start to finish. Including expectations and challenges.You will need to prove your work adaptability and flexibility, to apply your skills, knowledge and experience across a number of different projects and products.You will be expected to travel within the UK and overseas at short notice as part of the role.Knowledge and Skills:You must be an accomplished Senior Systems Engineer with experience in system designs, integration and test, who has an understanding of Systems and Product Lifecycles from concept to delivery.Whole product lifecycle (concept, generation, concept demonstration, development, production, and in-service support), all have to be clearly stated on your CV.You must have an understanding of a range of engineering disciplines (Software, Mechanical and Electrical supported by both practical and theoretical, backed up by either a degree level qualification in Engineering / Mathematics / Physics, or relevant equivalent work based experience.An understanding of Radar Systems is desirable and must be stated clearly on your CV.A working knowledge of developing systems using communication protocols is very desirable, such as (RS485, RS232, TCP-IP, Canbus etc.)Other key knowledge and skills that are desirable by the Company are product development for Naval Platforms, experience of working with or on navigation equipment.Having led multi-skilled engineering teams and delivering engineering packages of work to time, cost and quality.You also need to be a Member of a Professional Engineering Institution (e.g. IMechE, IET, INCOSE).Finally, you must be able to carry out the physical requirements of the job role and be able to pass UK Security Clearance.What's on Offer:A competitive basic salary, a range of excellent benefits and amazing career progression within a global corporate company.
