Due to continued expansion, they are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join the team at a site in North London. The position is permanent.As a Senior Systems Engineer your remit is within the Surveillance Systems business, to develop and deliver Company and Customer Funded systems projects, based upon state of the art technology. Your activities will include all aspects of the Systems Engineering lifecycle from 'System Concept' through to 'Delivery and Acceptance', including 'Bid Support', 'System Design' and 'System Integration'.The Company is looking for someone with a desire to investigate and utilise new technologies, processes and methods.Key Features of the Role:You will be expected to understand a range of Engineering disciplines (Software, Mechanical and Electrical). As well as being able to communicate to all internal stakeholders and external customers the process from start to finish. Including expectations and challenges.Systems Engineers will be required to complete system designs and integration tests. Using their understanding of Systems and Product lifecycles from concept through to delivery. You will need to prove your work adaptability and flexibility, to apply your skills, knowledge and experience across a number of different projects and products.You will be expected to travel within the UK and overseas at short notice as part of the role.Knowledge and Skills:You must be a current UK resident for the last 5 years with proof of address, as well as a GB or EU passport holder, with a clean UK driving licence and own vehicle. You must have an understanding of a range of engineering disciplines (Software, Mechanical and Electrical supported by both practical and theoretical, backed up by either a degree level qualification in Engineering / Mathematics / Physics, or relevant equivalent work based experience. An understanding of Radar Systems is desirable. As well as a working knowledge of developing systems using communication protocols is very desirable, such as (RS485, RS232, TCP-IP, Canbus etc.)Having led multi-skilled engineering teams and delivering engineering packages of work to time, cost and quality.You also need to be a Member of a Professional Engineering Institution (e.g. IMechE, IET, INCOSE). Other key knowledge and skills that are desirable by the Company are product development for Naval Platforms, experience of working with or on navigation equipment. Degree qualified in Engineering or similar technical subject.
