An award winning consultancy specialising in the provision of technical services to the London residential building sector now seeks to add an experienced M&E Project Manager with Mechanical Bias. As Project Manager, you will be working on site, being responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time & to budget. Projects are generally separate to usual day-to-day activities within the business and will require a group of colleagues to work together in order to achieve specific objectives. The Project Manager will oversee the project to ensure the desired results are achieved and the most efficient resources are utilised. Duties of the Project Manager will include, but not be limited to:·         Agreeing project objectives·         Providing advice on the management of projects·         Organising the various professional people working on the project·         Carrying out risk assessments and method statements·         Making sure that all the aims of the project and programmes are met·         Making sure the quality standards are achieved·         Using IT systems and site sign in system to keep track of people and progress·         Recruiting specialists and sub-contractors·         Monitoring sub-contractors to ensure guidelines are maintained·         Overseeing the accounting, costing and billing·         Attending progress and programme meetings·         Liaising with the client as required·         Develop and issue programmes as required using Microsoft Project·         Identify and capture variations to the main contract·         Ensure colleagues undertake their roles efficiently·         Issue Technical Submittals in co-operation with the Technical Team·         Manage visiting or site based Quantity Surveyor·         Prepare and present monthly reviews with Directors·         Procure on site labour as required·         Liaise with the Buying Department on ordering materials To be considered for the role of Project Manager, you are required to hold at least a HNC in a Building Services related subject, along CSCS Black Managers Card and an SMSTS Health & Safety Certification as a minimum. You will have good mechanical installation knowledge and experience on new build residential high rise projects, including Energy Centres. A well-established and well-respected aerospace manufacturing organisation is seeking to recruit an experienced Manufacturing Engineer / Cost Estimator for it’s expanding Birmingham facility, on a Contract basis The company manufactures a range of precision machined components for blue-chip customers in the aerospace and defence sectors.  Although experience in aerospace / defence is preferable, applications are also invited from candidates with appropriate experience in the automotive sector or other relevant precision machining environment. You will be required to prepare accurate cost estimates for the manufacture of complex machined components for the aerospace and IGT industries to support successful bids for new and existing programmes.As the Manufacturing Engineer / Cost Estimator your duties will include: Preparation of detailed cost estimates for the manufacture of machined products to support the acquisition of new business and commercial activities on existing business.Identification of all raw material and bought-out requirements from detail drawings, to allow the Supply Chain function to obtain quotations for the price and lead time.Preparation of robust and efficient methods of manufacture as a basis for completing cost estimates. Methods are to include all Special Process requirements such as Heat Treatment, Coatings, Testing etc.Analysis of performance on the manufacture of existing products to verify profitability.Identification of all Non-Recurring Costs (NRC’s) associated with the manufacture of components being estimated.Supporting the Business Development function in the submission of bids in line with agreed timescales.Supporting internal Bid Review Meetings through preparation and maintenance of trackers showing progress towards target submission dates.  To be a successful Manufacturing Engineer / Cost Estimator you will have the following skills and experience: Must be an experienced Estimator / Engineer with a strong CNC machining background and be fully conversant with modern manufacturing techniques.Completion of accurate cost estimates to required timescales.Experience of machining large precision turned and prismatic components in aerospace materials.Would preferably have knowledge of CAD-CAM systems with Solid Works and Catia being a distinct advantage.Must have strong time management skills with the ability to deliver multiple requirements concurrently to demanding timescales.Experience in an aerospace / automotive or relevant precision machining environment.Minimum HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience.
