As the Assistant Machine Setter your duties will be to: • Ensure the compliance of all Health & Safety procedures are adhered to at all times.• Ensure fully conversant and uphold all training on operating equipment.• At regular intervals check dies, temperature, water and running speeds.• Routinely check calibration of equipment.• Quality checking of products.• Assist in identifying the root cause of any quality issues and assist in correcting them. To be a successful Assistant Machine Setter you will have the following skills and experience: • Ability to demonstrate good technical skills.• Successful candidates must hold an NVQ Level 3 in Manufacturing (or equivalent) and have experience in a similar position.• Previous experience working within a manufacturing / engineering environment.• Must have good attention to detail skills.• Be flexible to work overtime as and when required. As the Machine Setter/Shaper your duties will be to: Ensure the compliance of all Health & Safety procedures are adhered to at all times.Ensure fully conversant and uphold all training on operating equipment.Set temperatures, machine speeds, size and measurement details accordingly to the job.Routinely check calibration of equipment.Ensure machines operate at maximum speeds whilst maintaining quality standards.Using technical skills, carry out first level fault diagnosis on all equipment.Quality checking products visually using microscope/micrometer to ensure size and spec are as required.Accurately maintain records including non-conformance, scrap generated and machine downtime. To be a successful Machine Setter/Shaper you will have the following skills and experience: Ability to demonstrate good technical skills.Must have experience in a Machine Op role (ideally CNC machines) is required.Previous experience with a Mechanical Fitter role would be ideal.Experience in basic fault finding on Production/Engineering machinery.Previous experience working within a manufacturing / engineering environment.Excellent abilities to follow plans with manual dexterity.Must have good attention to detail skills.Be flexible to work overtime as and when required. This role is currently based on a two shift rotation system comprising of 6-2 / 2-10 (13.5% shift allowance), however this may change in the future to a three shift rotation system (20% shift allowance), therefore flexibility would be required to working hours. The starting salary would be £25,331 (inclusive of shift allowance) whilst on training. This would increase to £28,354 (inclusive of shift allowance) once fully trained. Reporting to the Operations Manager you will work closely with the production, planning and maintenance teams and will be responsible for the coordination and control of the jig management process between sites. As the Jig Management Controller, your duties will be to: • Conduct inspections, establishing any faults, required maintenance, etc.• Ensure all jigs are cleaned and maintained to a high-quality standard before use within the production area.• Stand in for the Maintenance Technician when required.• Coordinate and execute the transfer of all jigs between all sites on time including the operation of an FLT and appropriate company vehicle.• Maintain and improve upon existing 5’s and housekeeping procedures.• Ensure the smooth running of all aspects of the system. To be a successful Management Controller you will have the following skills and experience: • Full UK driving licence is essential.• Excellent communication and organisation skills required.
