The purpose of this role is to set the conditions of the machines to run efficiently in line with customer specifications within shaping operations. As the Setter/Shaper, your main duties will include: Ensuring the compliance of all Health & Safety procedures are adhered to at all times.Ensuring fully conversant and uphold all training on operating equipment.Setting temperatures, speeds, size and measurement details accordingly to the job.Routinely checking calibration of equipment.Ensuring maximum speed operation whilst maintaining quality standards.Using technical skills, carrying out first level fault diagnosis on all equipment.Quality checking products visually using microscope/micrometer to ensure size and spec are as required.Accurately maintaining records including non-conformance, scrap generated and downtime. A well-established and well-respected manufacturing organisation is seeking to appoint an experienced Quality Manager (Aerospace) to work at its site close to Manchester.  The company manufactures specialised Systems to customers within the aerospace and defence sectors world-wide.  The role will include leading the company towards the full accreditation of AS9100 (Rev D), including final audit and post audit activity.  The role will also be involved in wider initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement, reducing the Cost of Quality and Right First Time.  Although previous experience in Aerospace and/or Defence is desirable, Candidates will be considered with similar experience in an alternative manufacturing environment with a stringent regulatory environment.
