Position: Materials PlannerLocation: Stoke on Trent, StaffordshireSalary: £22,000 - £24,000 (Dependent on Experience)Contract: 6 Month Maternity Cover (With View to Becoming Permanent)The Materials Planner Role:The main purpose of this Materials Planner role is to maintain and manage the production / manufacturing schedules and procurement of 3rd party materials and services via MRP system.You will create, control and maintain inventory levels for materials, direct consumables and made in house or purchased SKU (propose and agree with the business).Key Responsibilities of the Materials Planner:
Ensure that the sales and service log is kept up to dateProvide work order comparisons to finance and stores for every system build in a timely mannerRun MPS/MRP on a daily basisHold / attend regular project / sales / service review meetingsGenerate manufacture orders / works orders via the MRP systemGenerate warehouse pick-lists & service/sales pick listsRespond to queries / issues and review activities to drive continuous improvementsProvide data re impact of changes to Sales / authorised business plan / SKU policyEnsure BOM data is maintained identifying source, process route and or lead-timeEnsure Purchased items are identified and MRP master data secured with the Procurement functionManage BOM / Engineering Changes re implementation point in collaboration with business management, engineering/design, manufacturing and procurement functionsProvide status re material availability against project timescales and update business system Master Data
Skills & Experience Required:
This role is very administrative so would suit a highly organised individual with a strong administrative backgroundBasic experience in Sales, Inventory and Operations planningProven ability to work well with others at all organisational levelsExcellent verbal, written and presentation communication skillsKnowledge of ERP/MRP processes (ideally Navision)Microsoft Excel (Formulas)
