THE ROLEI am seeking Engnineering Geologists or Geo-technical Engineers to join our client in their Newcastle upon Tyne office.You may be from almost chartered level through already chartered and up to and including people at Principal Engineer level.You will help to manage the workload across the North East and motivate and develop graduates and other less experienced geotechnical engineers.You will join a growing geotechnical and environmental team comprising engineering geologists, geo-environmental and geotechnical engineers.You will be involved with working on projects across a range of sectors to include rail, roads, industrial, residential, commercial and leisure developments.THE COMPANYOur client is a successful firm of consulting engineers workng on civil, structural, geotechnical, traffic & transportation and related services.They have offices across the UK and are working with a good range of clients in the public and private sectors.They offer excellent ongoing training and CPD and good training towards becoming chartered for those that need it.THE CANDIDATEYou will need to have a Degree in Earth Sciences, Geology, Civil Engineering or an MSc in Geotechnics or Engineering Geology with several years' relevant experience in and you will need to have experience of working for a firm of consulting engineers and be from almost chartered status upwards.Experience in undertaking, scoping and reviewing Preliminary Risk Assessments and Intrusive Ground investigations includin gunderstanding of currently available ground investigation, sampling and laboratory analysis techniques.An understanding of contaminated land legislation and planning regime required.Good report writing skills and good understanding of ground models, geotechnical engineering properties and soil behaviours.Good understanding in the assessment and detailed design of slope stability, foundations, earthworks, soil and rock engineering, basement engineering.You should be able to work as part of a multi disciplinary team and have a clear understanding of clients requirements and value engineering.Experience of brown field development including risk assessment (GQRA and DQRA), regulatory liaison, remediation design and implementation / verification expeirence preferred.You should have good IT skills to include knowledge of AutoCAD, ArcGIS, RocScience, gINT, PLAXIS and Wallap software plus be fully conversant of Microsoft Office suite.Good communication skills are essential to be able to deal with clients and the professional team.Salary is very negotiable according to experience e.g. £28000 to £32000 if almost chartered, £35000 to £40000 at chartered level and £40000 + if at principal level plus pension and professional fees.Please email your c.v. via this website or give me, Nigel Hutchings a call on 020 7613 5555 for a confidential discussion.Please note that we do not send out your c.v. until after we have spoken to you about your requirements for a new position, your experience and about the client.

An award winning consultancy specialising in the provision of technical services to the London residential building sector now seeks to add an experienced M&E Project Manager with Mechanical Bias. As Project Manager, you will be working on site, being responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time & to budget. Projects are generally separate to usual day-to-day activities within the business and will require a group of colleagues to work together in order to achieve specific objectives. The Project Manager will oversee the project to ensure the desired results are achieved and the most efficient resources are utilised.
