THE ROLEI am seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our client in their office in South East London.You may be from almost chartered level through to already chartered.Our client works on projects across a wide range of sectors including education, residential, commercial, leisure, regeneration and masterplanning working on project across the UK and also internationally.THE COMPANYOur client is a successful firm of consulting engineers workng on civil, structural, geotechnical, traffic & transportation and related services.They have several UK offices and work on projects both in the UK and also in Africa and the Middle East.They offer excellent ongoing training and CPD and good training towards becoming chartered for those that need it.THE CANDIDATEYou will need to have a Degree in Earth Sciences, Geology, Civil Engineering or an MSc in Geotechnics or Engineering Geology with several years' relevant experience as a Geotechnical Engineer.You will need to have experience of working for a firm of consulting engineers and be from almost chartered status upwards.You will need to have good experience in design and delivery of projects and be able to manage some of your work independently.You should be able to demonstrate experience in the design and management of ground investigations, the preparation of thorough and considered geotechnical assessments (GIRs, GDRs, ground movement assessments etc.), geotechnical design and modelling and the provision of geotechnical advice to clients and colleagues.You will have proven experience of the design of civil engineering, geotechnical structures, the use of associated software and thorough knowledge of geotechnical design standards.You should be able to work as part of a multi disciplinary team and have a clear understanding of clients requirements and value engineering.Good communication skills are essential to be able to deal with clients and the professional team.Salary is very negotiable according to experience e.g. £45000 to £50000 plus pension contribution, discretionary bonus, professional fees, season ticket loan, life assurance, salary protection for sickness etc.Please email your c.v. via this website or give me, Nigel Hutchings a call on 020 7613 5555 for a confidential discussion.Please note that we do not send out your c.v. until after we have spoken to you about your requirements for a new position, your experience and about the client.
Principal Geotechnical Engineer - East Grinstead -

THE ROLEI am seeking a PRINCIPAL GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER to join a large firm of multi disciplinary consulting engineers in their East Grinstead, West Sussex office.You will lead project design teams and provide guidance as required on a project basis.You will supervise and oversee the work of design team members including that of the senior engineers, engineers and graduates.You will take technical ownership of projects including the preparation of geotechnical design solutions for major civil engineering works for highways, rail and other infrastructure schemes at preliminary, tender and detailed design stages.THE COMPANYOur client is a large multi disciplinary firm of consulting engineers.They have offices across the UK and are working with a good range of clients in the public and private sectors.They offer excellent ongoing training and CPD and good training towards becoming chartered for those that need it.THE CANDIDATEYou will need to have a Degree in Civil Engineering plus and MSc in Geotechnical Engineering or similar.
