An opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical and Electrical Technician to join a leading global chemical solutions provider with a long heritage of pioneering technologically advanced epoxy, acrylic and polyurethane-based polymer products.  Working within the Engineering Department in Duxford, Cambridge, the site is a key operational facility comprising of a manufacturing and packaging plant, warehousing and support services.    They are looking to recruit someone with a mechanical bias to join their maintenance team to service the Production and Packing departments, minimising plant down-time and improving site efficiencies. As Mechanical and Electrical Technician you will be responsible for: - Mechanical maintenance/installation of site processes & services;A level of electrical work to support mechanical maintenance;Complying with all relevant regulations and safety procedures;Maintenance / Fault finding / Repairs / installation to production plant, services and equipment, as well as testing of site safety systems. Ensuring compliance with the current pressure regulations and site safety regulations to current standards;Assisting in the continuity of supply for utility services to the site and maintaining regulatory equipment for insurance inspection. Support the process to ensure that all inspections are carried out at set intervals;Fabricating various parts and components using a wide range of materials and mechanical equipment.   To be a successful Mechanical and Electrical Technician you will have the following skills and experience: - The Job Holder will have served a recognised mechanical apprenticeship, with a minimum of City & Guilds part 2 / NVQ level three qualifications;Proven work experience in a Maintenance Environment or equivalent;Ideally Chemical Sector experience, if not pharma, biochemical or equivalent;Knowledge of Maintenance Management systems (e.g. SAP) and an awareness of specialised safety aspects such as DSEAR / ATEX and Pressure Systems;Understanding of regulatory and statutory Engineering requirements;A positive communicator with a “can do” attitude and continuous improvement focused mentality and the ability to work quickly and safely under pressure;Great team working skills, problem-solving techniques and the ability to manage a varied workload and change.   In return, the Mechanical and Electrical Technician will receive a salary of £30k - £33k plus a benefits package including private healthcare scheme, pension, incentives and bonuses and free parking. An opportunity has arisen for a Site Electrical Engineer to join a leading global solutions provider with a long heritage of pioneering technologically advanced epoxy, acrylic and polyurethane-based polymer products.  Working within the Engineering Department in Duxford, Cambridge, the successful candidate will be controlling the site electrical systems to ensure continued uninterrupted site operations.  You will be ensuring compliance with any National and Company code requirements related to site electrical systems and developing and maintaining site electrical standards and procedures. As Site Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for: - Controlling the main power systems that supply site manufacturing, buildings and offices as well as the distribution circuits to each area;Managing site High voltage and Low voltage network capacity and maintenance thereof;Ensuring that every electrical device or circuit installed meets the National Electric Codes and any Hexcel standards and testing of electrical systems once they are installed to ensure all systems are stable and safe;Scheduling and executing electrical supply equipment maintenance strategies (predictive and preventive);Evaluating and authorising maintenance and contractors for works onsite and act as the site authorised person for the management of electrical equipment in flammable areas;As part of the engineering team, support the safe operation of the site, including supporting project activity, advising the operational maintenance teams of maintenance needs for plant side power systems and issuing and controlling safe system of work permits for electrical works.  To be a successful Site Electrical Engineer you will have the following skills and experience: - Recognised Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent, minimum BTEC HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent;Relevant electrical engineering experience in operations and maintenance of large industrial plants is required;Expert knowledge of the Electricity at Work Regulations (EAWR 1989) and Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA 1974);Trained to the latest requirements for electrical installations BS7671 and experience of industry standard risk assessment techniques such as HAZOP, FMEA;Demonstrable understanding of ATEX requirements / COMPEX trained advantageous;Understanding of industrial process safety and Rockwell PLC knowledge required (Logix 5000 & 500, plus RS view).  In return, the Site Electrical Engineer will receive a competitive salary and a benefits package including pension, 25 days holiday, occupational health on site, subsidised canteen, and free parking.
