A well-established construction company who are market leaders, specialising in maintenance solutions for high profile projects / clients is seeking an HGV Technician / Fitter based in Cheshire to join its expanding team. As an HGV Technician / Fitter, your duties will be to:
Ensure all vehicles worked upon are handled in line with current H&S policyLiaise with parts department in a timely manner, completing necessary paper work as required to obtain partsAttend breakdowns and carry out roadside assistanceAttend remote vehicle inspections with a possible overnight stayComplete all related paperwork as necessaryEnsure appropriate job cards and service sheets are completed in a timely manner.Ensure all aspects of H&S working practices are adhered toMaintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness within the workshop and any other work areasMaintain current product knowledge and attend training courses as required.Carry out MOT inspection, repair, maintenance and service to manufacturers specifications including a wide ranging, varied mix of LGV / HGV and light commercial fleet vehicles and plant to VOSA, MOT standards.
To be a successful HGV Technician / Fitter you will have the following skills and experience:
City & Guilds or NVQ / BTEC qualified technician.Previous experience in a similar role.LGV or HGV licence is essential.Experience of welding, hydraulic systems and electrical systems.Current driving licence and ideally a Fork Lift licence (FLT).Flexible to working hours and approach.Good verbal communication skills.Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements.Due to the nature of the business, you must be flexible to travel nationally with overnight stays on occasions.

A well-established fleet management company who are market leaders in transportation vehicles for high profile contracts / company’s is seeking LGV Fitters based in Merseyside to join its expanding team to be responsible for the maintenance, repair and testing of vehicles to ensure that they adhere to strict standards and specifications.This Fitter role will be working on a rotating 4 on 4 off day shift pattern working 7am-7pm, with the availability of optional overtime.As the LGV Fitter, your duties will be to:
Maintain, inspect, repair and test the company’s vehicles to the high standards required.Carry out preventative maintenance in accordance with policies and procedures.Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical defects on all vehicles, replacing parts as and when necessary.Carry out periodic safety inspections to all vehicles.Prepare and present all LGV vehicles, other than exempt categories, for annual MOT inspections.Complete all relevant paperwork and documentation to the required standardEnsure that all relevant legislation and Health and Safety procedures are adhered to.
To be a successful LGV Fitter you will have the following skills and experience:
Must be a fully qualified and experienced Vehicle Technician with experience working on LGVs.Ideally have knowledge / experience with pneumatic, hydraulic systems / general fabrication/automotive electricals.Attended and passed a VOSA inspection course would be advantageous.Must be able to prioritise workloads and work to tight deadlines.Must be an excellent team player.
