As an established growing company the role of Manufacturing Shift Manager is an integral part of the company. The role is fast paced, at times pressurised, but for the successful candidate it will be an excellent career opportunity. Longer term there is a defined career path to manage the overall production facility due to the existing General Manager approaching retirement and a succession plan is already in place.   The company is a worldwide supplier of forged products to the Aerospace and Energy markets globally, and incredibly stable with a full order book now confirmed well into 2019.    As the Manufacturing Shift Manager, you will also responsible for: Supporting the General Manager in pursuing business objectives in terms of output, quality, and cost in a heavy engineering forge environment;Managing the forge unit so that production schedules and customer needs are met whilst continually improving processes to achieve higher performance;Supervising maintenance personnel in the absence of team leaders;Ensuring agreed customer delivery times are achieved;Scheduling resources to meet production requirements;To participate, identify, develop, and implement continuous improvement activities throughout the Forge.   This is a multifaceted role and has varied and challenging components to it including delivery performance, quality, scrap control, safety, people, housekeeping, team work and communication.   The successful Shift Manager will have the following skills and experience: Degree qualified in related engineering or manufacturing discipline;Management experience, including people management ideally from an engineering or aerospace background - though other sectors will be considered;Knowledge of modern manufacturing and logistics techniques, quality systems and continuous improvement;High level of financial awareness including budgeting and forecasting experience;Developed understanding in the use of excel for Budgeting, Forecasting and P&LIT skills Word and PowerPoint;Ability to work a day / back shift pattern.   In return you will receive a salary of £36,000 - £42,000 pa dependent on experience plus 33 days’ holiday and a contribution pension scheme.  This role presents as an excellent career opportunity to further enhance knowledge and your manufacturing engineering and management skills. As the HSE Manager, the role will see you working in a heavy engineering environment across two sites as the role covers the UK operation. 80% of the time you will be based from Lincolnshire, though there will be some requirement to travel to one other site in central Scotland once per month for one to two days at a time over seeing and managing the work of the local HSE Advisor onsite.
